Player Profile - Raffaele Masellis

Raffaele has no regrets

Despite finishing the last two Mazza tournaments in 8th place and not blowing any chance of winning this year Raffaele Masellis didn't express any disappointment in his last place finish.  His only disappointment was that 2007 Serie B Champion Pasquale Pontiero will not be partcipating this year.  "What the hell am I going to do in the afternoon?"

"I am happy," Ralph told reporters. "When the best players in the world are here and I played the tournament I played ... I felt very comfortable playing. I belonged there."

Raffaele had a remarkable round last year that included 10 double pars, two triple bogeys and two double bogeys on his way to a record 144.  The "Defender of the People", made four consecutive trips to the bar car without any U.S. $  ...... Mike Primucci has petitioned Mazza Commisioner Mario Masellis to be paired in the same group at least 2 times for the upcoming tournament in Scottsdale.  "It's the only way I am going to my money back for the drinks he cost me last year.!"

In preparing for the latest segment of this great tournament Raffaele has been working hard on his game and feels very confident about this year.

Lessons with His "Private" Coach, have golf fans everywhere hoping that this year will be different.

Mike is praying that this years favourable exchange rate will not discourage Ralph in making more trips to the drink cart with $ in tow.

Player Profile - Ignazio (Robert ) Bruno

Past Champion is confirmed and ready to go.  Just back from Florida, Robert Bruno is rested and ready to compete for the coveted trophy.  The tournament is returning to the place where it all came together for the former champion.  Iggy, as he is known by his inner circle of friends was asked what he thought about returning to the city that hosted his first and only championship.  "All I ever wanted to do was play hockey for my beloved Toronto Maple Leafs".  When that did not happen, Iggy began to focus on what most hockey players do after they retire from the game.....golf.

Robert offered to play for the Phoenix Cayotes for no salary, in return for unlimited golf  in Arizona.

With one of the lowest handicaps on tour Iggy certainly has his work cut out for him. The new father took a well deserved sabbatical from the Mazza tournament last year. The arrival of his daughter put things in perspective. It is no longer the the game of golf that makes this man smile, but the smile of his princess Tianna. Take witness to one of the most memorable acceptance speeches of 2007.

That would make any daughter proud !!

GOOD LUCK TO IGGY IN 2010!!
