Alejandro Primucci Pulls Out of Mazza Tournament

GUADALAJARA - MEXICO  (Reuters) - International Condom and sex toy manufacturer Trojan said on Tuesday that it would not end its sponsor deals with Alejandro Primucci, whose popularity has slumped after a two week sex scandal.

The company said it was standing by Mexico's No. 1 golfer, who said on Monday that he was taking an "indefinite break" from the Mazza Tournament.

"Trojan will maintain its exclusive agreement with Alex in both mini condoms and sex toy categories, and we look forward to his eventual return to the Mazza Tour," Trojan Executive Hugh G. Rection said in a statement. "Alex and his family have our full support."

Alex has served as an exclusive spokesman and autograph signer for Trojan's Asian line since 2001.

Primucci, now in his late 30's, last week admitted cheating on his wife as allegations of multiple extramarital affairs with Men rocked his life and career.

The golfer's public standing has plummeted as a parade of up to 13 men -- from hair dressers to several members of the popular Chippendales All Male Review, including Ben Gay, Harry P. Ness, Phil McRevis, E. Jack Ulate, Master Bates, Pat McGroin, Peter Goyzenia, Mike Hawk and the Mexican Porn star Juan Abuckmee  -- came forward to say they had had flings with the married father of two.

In the latest USA Today/Gallup poll, Primucci 's  "favourable" rating dropped to 33 percent from 85 percent in June 2005. His "unfavourable" rating surged to 57 percent from 8 percent.

Findings like those are making companies nervous.
Pharmaceutical giants Pfizer, makers of Viagra and are also weighing there options and this point and reserve to comment until they see if in fact he used these enhancing drugs while having sexual relations with these men.

When contacted by Skype today, Mazza Commissioner, Mario Masellis said only that he was disappointed that Alex was pulling out of the 2010 tournament, but was looking forward to seeing Alex back in 2011.

Meanwhile there will be press conference held tomorrow in Geneva Switzerland naming Mr. Luis M Piedade as replacing Alex for next year.  Luis' commitment to the tournament was solidified as his flight to Phoenix was booked for $4.02 shy of thousand.  Ouch!!  Leave the lubricant at home.
